HMRC to end payments by personal credit cards

From 13 January 2018 HMRC will no longer accept  personal credit card payments. As a result taxpayers will have to make payments via direct debit, debit cards, Faster Payment, Bacs or CHAPS. The change is as a result of EU rules on recharging credit card fees.

This change will not affect debit cards, only personal credit card payments.

Corporate, business and commercial cards are not affected by the new legislation.
